Safari Through Namibia, Botswana and Vic Falls in 20 Superb Days

点评：Claire, from Lark Journeys, organised a brilliant tour for 9 of us. From Windhoek, we drove out to the tidy coastal city of Swakopmund for a two-night stay and included a half-day dune experience. We then headed north and then east through private game parks and national parks. A highlight was an amazing day and couple of nights interacting with the San Bushmen of the Kalahari. The tour ended with a restful two days at Victoria Falls after dipping twice into Botswana for game drives on the Okavango and in Chobe National Park.
Some our group missed seeing a hyena but all the "big five" animals were seen including the rare leopard and her cub and, in one day, 24 lions. The elephants, rhinos, lions and cheetahs were all seen closer than about 5 metres.
Our accommadation was excellent throughout, even the two days in actual tents in the Chobe National Park.
Our transport was a 10-seat Toyota Defender. It was much more comfortable than I expected and it meant that we made several off-road forays successfully looking, for example, for desert-adapted elephants. Many roads were rough and corrugated but that meant the wonderful accommodation was appreciated even more.
Of particular note was the broad knowledge of our drivers/guides. Their care, ability to give excellent explanations about the geology, plants, animals and local cultures was greatly appreciate. Daniel guided us for most of the trip but Botswana required us to use a Botswanian guide (Niq). Both were great company, were passionate and cared deeply about their environment and worked tirelessly to give us the best experience possible.
Lark Journeys organisation was superb and the entire 20-day journey went without a hitch. All excursions were prepaid so the only extra cost was for the relatively small gratuities for local services and most lunches. I thoroughly recommend Lark Journeys.
