Pure Love Ethiopia的点评
点评：I’d like to share my experience and highly recommend Pure Love Ethiopia, their guide Anteneh, and the different local guides and collaborators I met during my trip.
I recently spent three weeks travelling solo through Ethiopia, following an itinerary covering the North, Centre and South of the country.
From the beginning, communication was smooth. My wishes and interests were taken into account when creating a personalised itinerary, and I was warned that some changes might be necessary along the way. It is obvious, but I appreciated the honesty and transparency. The agreed price was also consistent with the expenses incurred during the trip.
The guides
I spent 5 days with Anteneh and the rest of the trip with local guides.
At no point did I feel unsafe. Everyone was very attentive to my needs, and I felt well looked after throughout the journey.
📍 Lalibela – Deacon +251 91 382 8430
I cannot recommend Deacon highly enough. He is enthusiastic, patient and, above all, incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Lalibela. I learned a lot thanks to him.
📍 Hawassa – Tesfaye (Fish), Paradise City Tours
A big recommendation for Tesfaye! Born and raised in Hawassa, he knows the city and its different communities extremely well. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and made the city tour one of the highlights of my trip. Hawassa is a really interesting city, and Tesfaye helped me understand it much better.
📍 Bale Mountains
I went trekking with a guide who has worked in the park for around 20 years, so needless to say, he knew the area extremely well. I absolutely loved hiking through the park and seeing the wildlife along the way.
📍 Omo Valley – Beri
berimudatadesse@yahoo.com was a fantastic guide and a very skilled negotiator in the local markets. During every visit to the different communities, he always made sure I had understood everything and took the time to explain the animals, landscapes and structures we saw along the road, as well as the relationships between the different communities in the region.
📍 Anteneh
Anteneh is a very good guide. Once he gets going, he has a lot to share and explains things very well. The two-day road trip towards the South, passing by seven of Ethiopia’s lakes, was extremely informative and was definitely among the best days of my trip.
Whenever there was a problem, even a minor one, he was responsive and helpful.
My only downside would be about communication and organisation.
I had not expected to be passed from one guide to another without my main guide accompanying me, and I was only informed the day before. Also, with the different collaborators, I occasionally had to remind the last guide in Addis Ababa of the itinerary we had originally planned.
That said, the different guides I met turned out to be some of the highlights of my trip, so this did not take away from the overall experience.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Pure Love Ethiopia if you are looking for a complete, personalised itinerary covering several regions of Ethiopia.
And if you are looking for a guide for a specific part of the country, I would also happily recommend the individual collaborators I mentioned above.
Three weeks, travelling solo, from North to South — and I came home with a lot of great memories, knowledge and wonderful encounters.
