Conocí a Hieu cuando iba llegando a Huế, comenzó a conversarme en la calle cuando recién me bajaba del taxi. Como sudamericano desconfiado solo escuché pacientemente para ver que me estaba hablando. En el momento en el que sacó su libreta con las reseñas de las personas escritas a mano, supe instantáneamente que era una persona sincera y confiable. Automáticamente le dije que quería el tour por el dia en la ciudad y alrededores.
Al día siguiente llegó con su hijo Thang, porque haría el viaje con él. Creo que no hay palabras para la amabilidad, calidad humana y cercanía de esta familia con sus clientes, los que terminan convirtiendo realmente en sus amigos, muchas veces.
Con Thang recorrimos
Tumba de Tu Duc, Parque acuático abandonado (cabeza de dragón), la villa del incienso, Pegoda Thien Mu, La Ciudadela y Vang Canh Hill.
Fue una experiencia que jamás podría imaginar, fue cien veces mejor de lo que esperaba. Thang fue extremadamente paciente en todos los lugares (tomo muchas fotografías), me ayudó con la comunicación, compras y comida durante todo el día. Durante el día le comenté que iría a Phong Nha, y quedé tan a gusto que preferí ir con él para recorrer lugares importantes, fue la mejor decisión que pude haber tomado.
El dia 2 visitamos:
Cementerio de los Mártires, Puente Huyen Luong y museo (historia de la división de Vietnam del norte y sur), túneles de Vinh Moc (imperdible, único y con una profundidad e intensidad emocional inmensa) y la casa fabricada de restos de bombas. El clima no nos acompañó mucho, pero eso sólo hizo que la experiencia fuera aún más interesante, nos llovió un montón (pero tenía todo para prestarme!).
En resumen, a un precio mucho más que razonable puedes tener una experiencia increíble del Vietnam real, no diseñado para turistas únicamente, si quieres más autenticidad y libertad ve 100% con ellos. Me voy con un amigo nuevo de Vietnam. Estarás ayudando a una familia completa a surgir al ir con ellos.

I met Hieu just as I arrived in Huế; he struck up a conversation on the street right after I got out of my taxi. Being a skeptical South American, I just listened patiently to see what he had to say. The moment he pulled out his notebook filled with handwritten reviews from other travelers, I instantly knew he was sincere and trustworthy. Right then and there, I booked a full-day tour of the city and its surroundings.
The next day he arrived with his son Thang, who would be guiding the tour with me. Words cannot describe the kindness, genuine warmth, and personal connection this family shares with their clients, people who truly end up becoming their friends.
With Thang, we visited:
Tu Duc Tomb
The abandoned water park (dragon head)
The incense village
Thien Mu Pagoda
The Imperial Citadel
Vong Canh Hill
It was an experience beyond anything I could have imagined, a hundred times better than expected. Thang was incredibly patient at every stop (I take a lot of photos) and helped me with communicating, shopping, and ordering food throughout the day. When I mentioned I was heading to Phong Nha next, I felt so comfortable that I chose to travel with him to see the important historical sites along the way. It was the best decision I could have made.
On Day 2, we visited:
The Martyrs' Cemetery
Hien Luong Bridge and Museum (the history of the division between North and South Vietnam)
Vinh Moc Tunnels (an absolute must-see: unique, profound, and emotionally intense)
A house built from bomb remnants
The weather didn't cooperate, but that only made the experience even more memorable. It poured on us, but Thang had plenty of rain gear to lend me!
For a more than reasonable price, you get an incredible glimpse of the real Vietnam, not just the version packaged for tourists. If you want authenticity and freedom, book with them 100%. I'm leaving Vietnam with a new friend. And more important you'll be supporting a local family directly.
