点评：What an unexpected delight! With out of state friends visiting, a day trip to rural Scotland Neck in eastern NC was set to visit the bird park. To be honest, expectations were low. Having recently visited another wildlife sanctuary in SC with it’s haphazard layout, we were so impressed with the looping trail that made it easy to not miss any of the aviaries. Very shaded paths and more varieties of ducks and other fowl than imaginable. The areas are presented as countries with helpful information boards describing the birds in each location. Entrance fees are extremely reasonable and the gift shop has all kinds of souvenirs. We went on a Tuesday and we virtually had the place to ourselves. Even grabbed a chicken salad wrap at the snack bar which was very good. We did not note any birds appearing to be stressed as some reviews mention, and also did not see any overcrowding. Penguins arrive this fall and we will plan another visit for that.
