点评:Unfortunately, this was the absolute worst experience of our Switzerland trip—and I rarely ever post negative reviews.
We purchased our tickets and walked to the platform, where we realized for the first time that the cable car had no seats and that passengers were expected to stand for the ride. A member of our party was already not feeling well and wasn’t sure they could safely stand for the duration of the trip. We paused to consider our options, but as they began feeling worse, we decided not to risk them becoming ill on the ride and returned inside and literally just a few feet from where we had purchased our tickets.
We politely explained the situation and requested a refund since we had not used the service. Unfortunately, we were met with an extremely rude and dismissive response and were given no options. We were simply pointed to a small-print, no-refund policy posted nearly seven feet off the ground, where it would be very difficult for someone of average height to notice.
I asked if we could speak with someone who had the authority to consider an exception given the circumstances. We were told that person was on holiday.
I cannot emphasize enough how rude and disrespectful we felt we were treated. We were left feeling as though we had been hustled after what should have been a simple and understandable situation.
I’m sure the other passengers appreciated that we chose not to board rather than risk having someone become ill during the ride. At the very least, the refund policy should be posted somewhere clearly visible before customers purchase their tickets. More importantly, when someone has an unexpected physical limitation or becomes ill, a little kindness and understanding would go a long way.
A disappointing experience, especially in a country that has otherwise been incredibly welcoming and accommodating.
