Stunning Turquoise Water, Extremely Crowded – Consider a Organized Day Tour

点评：Moraine Lake is absolutely stunning, and its incredible, bright turquoise water will leave you amazed. Once there, you can take a short, pleasant walk along the lakeshore or head up to the famous Rockpile, which is where everyone gathers to capture their perfect Instagram photos. However, be prepared for heavy crowds. Even visiting in early June, right at the start of the season (keep in mind the access road only opens on 1st June), it was far too busy for me to fully immerse myself in the experience, especially when compared to some less-visited lakes.

Getting to the lake requires some planning. Personal vehicles are strictly banned on Moraine Lake Road. To travel the 14 km stretch from the Lake Louise road junction, you must either hike, bike, or use a shuttle service.The official Parks Canada shuttle costs $12.75 CAD for an adult ticket plus a non-refundable $3.50 CAD online booking fee. These buses run every 30 minutes and must be reserved well in advance. The shuttle is well organiyed as weel as on and off points. If advanced tickets are sold out, still 60% of the remaining shuttle seats are released exactly 2 days (48 hours) prior to the departure date at 8:00 AM
The Best Alternative If You Don't Have a Car:
For some, navigating the competitive booking system can be off-putting. If you miss your prefered ticket or you prefer a stress-free experience, you can book a commercial shuttle or a full-day guided tour. Since I didn't have a rental car, I chose a organized day tour that combined Moraine Lake with other iconic spots like Emerald Lake and Peyto Lake. For me, this day tour was absolutely the best and most convenient option and also good value.
