I am writing this to urgently warn all travelers, especially solo female backpackers, about a jeep
driver named BAYA (Behailu Ayele), who also operates on Facebook under the name Bahe Ayele.
He operates independently in the Arba Minch and Omo Valley regions. He is a dangerous
manipulator, scammer, and abuser.
During my trip, he scammed me out of €1,500 by pretending to exchange money on the black
market and lying about "all-in" prices for a non-existent boss (the jeep is his own). When he
realized I was traveling alone as a European woman, he started making unwanted sexual
advances.
When I confronted him about his scams, he heavily gaslighted and blackmailed me, claiming that
as a white woman in Ethiopia, I could do nothing against him. When I stood my ground, the
situation escalated and he physically assaulted me, punching me in the face and causing my lip to
bleed.
I felt extremely unsafe and went into survival mode. Thanks to a Belgian tour operator and a local
contact, I was rescued that same night and brought safely to the airport to book a flight home,
cutting my trip short.
Afterward, he tried to call me to apologize and act like a friend, but became furious again when I
asked for my stolen money back. He explicitly manipulates white solo female travelers for money,
sex, and hopes of a European visa.
While local professional agencies are now boycotting him, please protect yourself. Do NOT book
this man. He is unstable and dangerous.

虽然当地的专业机构如今都在抵制他，但请务必保护好自己。切勿预订他的服务。他情绪不稳定且十分危险。
