点评:Aug 2026 - 100% summit Uhuru Peak 6:40 AM - women ages 31, 51, 60 and 63
- Three took Diamox (age 60 did not).
.
CUSTOMIZED 8-day Lemosho Route: All the time and attention provided by Henry (based in England) thru emails and Zoom calls was incredibly considerate, and our itinerary evolved into a truly personalized tour. Our requests for nights in Moshi, Marangu route descent, and to never stay in the same hotel twice were arranged with care.
.
RENTED GEAR: Poles, private tent (all are 3-person), ~80L duffel, and warm sleeping bag.
- Thick 1.5 person wide sleeping mats are included at no charge. I slept like a baby.
.
TREK FOOD: Breakfast was always good. Soups were amazing. The cook prepared a special individual meal when one trekker was sick and made an incredible congrats cake.
.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
- Moshi - Leopard Hotel (2 nights)
- Arusha - Moivaro (trek return) and Outpost (Safari return)
- 3-day Safari - Pakulala on the crater edge and Country Lodge in Karatu
We’d stay in all again except Outpost, which felt dark and dreary. However, their privately owned restaurant was excellent, so we recommend eating there.
.
HIGH-QUALITY SUPPORT TEAM:
DICKSON, Head Guide - Resourceful with incredible listening skills; adapts when needed. He requested a power bank on "resupply day" as one of mine had died, obtained sunburn cream for the top of my hands, and separated 3 of us to trek to Cathedral Point, while he escorted ill trekker #4 directly to Shira II Camp. I was touched by his thoughtfulness. (Our summit was #251 for him.)
.
MIRIAM, Asst Guide - Set a great DAILY pace, directly impacting our success. She carried extra water bottles, pointed out flora, and initiated songs for our summit crew. When I called out, "Oh - Enrique Iglesias!" to a porter playing "Hero," Miriam taught us to say "wimbo mzuri," meaning "good song" in Swahili. After the trip, she even helped upload photos to my Dropbox. (Our summit was #46 for her.)
.
ALBERT - Our waiter but also helped guide us to Cathedral Point. He suggested photos, including some with buffalo horns. Our day was full of laughter over my "Push-it, Push-it" song (slogan), but he and Miriam kept us "pole pole." (He would be a great Head Guide.)
.
JOEL - My duffel porter was always "there" - whether early AM, brushing boots on camp arrivals, or joining in song & dance. (He would also make a great Lead Guide.)
.
BARAKA & MICHAEL - Joined our final ascent, discreetly monitored us, helped with daypacks, clothing, hot tea/water, and our descent over rocks.
.
ROBERT & GEORGE - Two porters who encouraged us from Day 1, reminded us that a successful summit is all in your mind. Get that right and no worries.
.
JACKSON - Our "Toilet Crew" all by himself. He kept us sanitary. When I chose him to ask where the bathroom was at our celebration lunch - everyone laughed. A big thanks to him!
.
We finished with a strong desire to repeat the trip and would request the same team.
