We took the 7-day Alternative Lemosho route—they are one of the few outfitters offering this itinerary, which brilliantly combines the lush rainforest scenery of Lemosho with the quiet, uncrowded trails of the Northern Circuit. From our spacious three-room tent to fantastic hot meals three times a day, camp logistics were flawless.

Safety First: When my partner developed severe altitude sickness on day four, our lead guide, Janeth, made an immediate safety call and expertly escorted her off the mountain with incredible care.
The Summit Push: Haruna (Matata) took over guiding me to the peak. We started at midnight on day six, reaching the crater rim right at sunrise. His pacing and encouragement got me to the summit sign at 19,341 feet.
Extra Mile Hospitality: Their support continued after the climb—they securely stored all our mountain gear while we headed off on safari.
