点评:This has been my third visit to Reteti in as many years and each time I go I am in awe of the amazing work that goes on here.
What makes this elephant sanctuary so special is that it is the community that owns it and cares for not just orphaned elephants but any native wildlife that needs a helping hand.
I love seeing all the same familiar faces three years in a row and observing the inspirational work that they do.
They are truly a family that devotes their lives to helping orphaned animals.
New this year was their education center, which explains in amazing hands-on displays and photos the work that they do.
We were charmed by the orphaned giraffes, zebras, and other animals that are being rehabilitated by this dedicated team. At noon all of the orphaned elephants come in from the browsing outdoors to have their milk bottles. To hear all of the keepers singing to them as they arrive, brings a tear to your eye.
If you find yourself in northern Kenya at one of the national parks or conservancies, definitely take time to visit this most inspiring of places
