National Neon Sign Museum的点评
点评：The National Neon Sign Museum was one of the biggest surprises of our trip to The Dalles. We expected to see vintage neon signs, but what we found was a fascinating journey through the history of sign making and American advertising.
Our tour was led by the owner, whose passion and knowledge made the experience unforgettable. He brought the exhibits to life with stories about the craftsmanship, artistry, and evolution of signage. You can tell this museum is truly a labor of love.
One of the highlights was visiting the upstairs ballroom, where beautifully restored vintage storefronts and authentic neon displays transport you back in time. The attention to detail is incredible, and it's easy to lose yourself exploring all the history.
We were also fascinated by the museum's historic carousel restoration project. It's an ambitious undertaking, and hearing about the vision behind it made us appreciate the dedication of everyone involved even more.
By the end of our visit, they almost had me signing up to volunteer painting carousel horses—and for more than a minute, I seriously considered spending a month in The Dalles helping bring this incredible project to life!
Beyond the museum itself, the owners were incredibly welcoming and generous with recommendations for things to do around The Dalles, including the excellent mural walking tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
