点评：I booked this tour because I'm a local and had yet to experience it. I've done other whiskey tours in the past and enjoyed them a lot so I was very curious as to what was available on my doorstep. I was very pleasantly surprised with this tour. The price was £75 for a two hour single malt tour, there is a cheaper tour available but I opted for the single malt one as this was more my personal taste. The tour begins in the visitor centre and you are pleasantly greeted and introduced to the distillary and sourroundings before beginning the tour with a couple of videos showcasing the history of the site itself. This was one of the best tour introductions of any kind I've ever had and I don't want to spoil it for first time visitors but what I will say is that it was a very unique and enjoyable start to the tour. After the video history, my tour guide Darren walked me through the different areas of the distillary and I was shown the processes used to make Glencadam whiskey and found out some interesting facts about the newly built visitor centre itself. Once the tour concluded we did our tasting and there was a good selection of single malts set out for me to try. The information Darren provided on each of the single malts was perfect and we discussed palet differences and individual taste preferrences, eventually concluding my palet is better suited to bourbon and sherry cask single malts. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, one which I will be repeating with friends to show off how proud Brechiners, like myself, are to have something so steeped in history showcased the way it is. Before I left I bottled my own single malt and got to write out the bottle label myself and was given a taste of this as well before bottling. I ended my day in the cafe before it closed for the day and they had a lovely selection of food, sweet treats and craft bottled beers to choose from.
