Pretty port but high prices, local ice cream shop the best

点评：Small pretty port, we visited by tender from the cruise ship. I researched the area beforehand so we didn’t take up any trips or excursions and had not heard good reviews about the small train, which we did see sat waiting with passengers for about half hour before it set up.
We visited the beach to the left of the port, everyone heads to the right for shops and restaurants. Small rocky beach with bean bags and umbrellas to hire for 15euros. Fabulous delicious local ice cream shop and the best we had on our entire 10 day trip.
On passing shops and local trip business I felt they hassle you a little to either come on in or take up a trip.
The restaurants/bars did not do this, but so check out the prices for beers as they do vary vastly.
The boutiques and tourist shops are some of the most expensive I have come across in a port.
One particular shop boutique owner had a very large corner shop with a Sale on explaining which rails were reduced, beautiful shop, the largest in Katakolo, I liked one co-ord item and he said “it was the last one at 20euros” I wasn’t sure on the colour. Anyway we went away for a drink and when I returned later, miraculously other colours had arrived on the rail and when I asked him how much the set (top and skirt) was it had gone up to 45Euros, confused; I said “but the green set was originally 20Euros being the last set?” He said ok (agitated) you can have for35Euros, saying all this as he’s unpacking more of the same item out of the packets. I walked out.
A small port that relies solely on cruise ship business but feel they take advantage puting on high prices because of it.

那些精品店和旅游纪念品店是我在各个港口见过的最贵的。有一位精品店的老板，他经营的店面是卡塔科洛最大的，也是最为漂亮的店铺。店里正在打折，标明了哪些商品有优惠。我看中了一套搭配好的上衣和裙子，他对我说：“这是最后一件了，售价20欧元。”我当时对颜色还有些犹豫。后来我们去喝东西，等我回来时，神奇的是货架上又上架了其他颜色的同款套装。当我询问这套上衣和裙子的价格时，发现已经涨到了45欧元。我很困惑；我说：“可是那套绿色的本来售价就是20欧元，是最后一套了啊？”他慌乱地回应说：“好吧，35欧元卖给你。”说话的同时他还在从包装袋里拿出更多同款商品。我转身离开了。
这是一个完全依赖游轮旅游业的小港口，但当地人觉得正是因为如此，商家才趁机抬高价格来牟利。
