When the streets of Black Mountain are packed and it is absolutely blazing hot outside, **Sassafras on Sutton** is the best-kept secret in town. Step through the doors, and you’re instantly hit with a wave of glorious air conditioning and the amazing aroma of fresh coffee. It has always been my absolute go-to spot!
Here is why this multi-level gem is a must-visit:
* **The Best Brews in Town:** Their coffee bar is top-tier. Whether you need a crisp iced latte to beat the heat or a classic espresso drink, they serve up the best coffee in the area. Plus, they have great local treats like Poppy popcorn right at the counter!
* **Perfectly Curated Books & Nooks:** The selection of books is incredibly well thought out. Beyond the shelves, the atmosphere is unmatched. You can tuck yourself into a cozy leather armchair hidden between the stacks, or lounge in one of their plush turquoise chairs under the warm glow of string lights and chandeliers.
* **Hidden Treasures:** It’s so much more than just a bookstore. They have an awesome toy store section, gorgeous greeting card displays, and cool stationery like Moleskine and Field Notes notebooks.
