点评:During our stay in Seattle, we decided to drive down to Mount Rainier National Park to enjoy some time in nature and see the mighty mountain. While the weather didn't fully cooperate, we had a morning of overcast skies (the rain moved in later as we were departing the park). We came into the park at the Nisqually entrance and headed up to Paradise, making numerous stops along the way--Carter Falls, Narada Falls, and a couple of scenic turnouts (or viewpoints)--to walk down to the waterfall or to the running water or back to the bridge to get the best views and to take it all in. Truly it was all stunning scenery despite the overcast skies and the peak shrouded in clouds. We found parking at the Jackson Visitor Center and went inside to use the facilities, check out the gift shop, and see the historic displays. After that, we headed out after spending just a couple hours inside the park. Thankfully we had gotten a nice view of the sunny Mount Rainier from a Seattle harbor cruise earlier in the week. Just this initial foray into the Park has provided us with information for future such adventures and how to be better prepared for them.
