Very scenic visit. Gold mine rather 'modern' 1930-1940's era
Independence Mine State Historical Park的点评
点评:We tend to like the mid to late 1800's era for silver and gold mines so this more modern era from the 1930's 1940's didn't quite interest us as much as others. It certainly is a fine part of Alaska's history and the scenery some of the best anywhere, including the drive from Palmer to get here. The $5 parking fee machine did not work for us so we disliked that. Aggravation should never be part of a nice visit. The ruins were something to see despite the unruly young kids running around. The gift shops were really lacking. We like souvenir patches or something to remember this mine but there was really nothing, just the real touristy stuff that you can find anywhere. We really can't give this anything above 'average' after all is said and done. It might improve and is worth a try for others.
