点评：Before I left for Chicago's Goodman Theatre to see its current production, Dead Girl's Quinceanera, I had to scan my dictionary to learn what a Quinceanera is. By definition, it is a traditional Latin American coming-of-age celebration marking a girl's 15th birthday and her transition from childhood to womanhood. So now I know what it's all about. Maria was last seen at her Quinceanera. She hasn't responded to any messages in 36 hours. Now her three best friends, armed with confidence, questionable clues and zero adult supervision, are on the case, racing against the clock to find out what happened. A play at the Goodman is always worth seeing. Located at 170 North Dearborn Street in Chicago's Loop, it is the city's oldest active non-profit theater company. Founded in 1925 as a tribute to Chicago playwright Kenneth Sawyer Goodman, it is one of six Chicago theater companies to receive the prestigious Regional Theatre Tony Award, along with Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Shakespeare, Lookingglass and Court Theatre, making Chicago the most recognized city in the country. Goodman moved into its current address in 2000, a 171,000-square-foot facility with two fully modern auditoriums. In 2022, Susan V. Booth took over as artistic director, becoming the first woman to lead the Goodman, which has been described as "the most important theater in American's second most important theatrical city."
