Accessibility - i booked evening before going because my youngest has been begging to go. I noticed from the Instagram page that check in has been moved to the bottom of steep steps. I am unable to do this so attempted about 15 times to telephone the contact number from website and just kept ringing off snd eventually just turned off. All other alt numbers unrecognisable. Decided to arrive early and speak to staff to ask for parking closer to the check in and water edge and was like a ghost town. Not one member of staff anywhere to be seen. Massive sign warning steps to check in not for those with mobility problems and to check map for accessible parking....map zero help. Thankfully my mum was with us so I sent her down with the kids to ask staff and phone. She phoned to say if you leave the car park and drive down rd there is a black gate but staff will open as its a locked gate.....now if I didnt have anyone to go down to ask for this gate to be opened or even where it was, I would have no way of finding out as cannot do steps and no staff to ask and nobody answering phones!
Beach huts - website description - 'Located right along our beach area, our Day Huts offer the perfect place to relax during your visit to Let’s Go Hydro. Whether you’re taking a break between activities, keeping your belongings together, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, your Day Hut provides a comfortable space just moments from the action.'
I only booked this becayse i have a daughter with autism and wouldnt cope in busy changing areas. This isn't even close to being worth £20 and def doesn't comfortably fit 2 people and not at all comfortable to sit in. Any wonder there are no online photos of inside them.....its a wooden bench and a bit of fake grass.
Lifeguards - the lifeguards were all nice enough and polite, however, when I am sending my kids into water, id like to think they are being watched. Safety announcement tp say if need assistance to raise hand and shout lifeguard. I spotted my daughter struggling to pull herself up on inflatable and her sister couldnt get her on...they had hand up calling and all lifeguards not on inflatables are in a circle laughing and talking with backs to water. I literally had to get their attention and point over and one shouted to a lifeguard on top of a slide to go help them. Spotted another girl waving and shouting for ages and not spotted (a parent ended up helping). My daughter said it was parents who helped them anytime got stuck as lifeguards couldnt see them waving arms. They had a few lifeguards on top of slides but none on areas where you actually climb back up on course. I counted 5 at the edge of water just chatting away amd 3 of them were leaning against the railing not looking at water.
Wetsuits - both rips everywhere on them
Thankfully my kids had a ball and I didnt ruin their day by giving off about place to them but I wont be back.
