A highlight of my tour in Georgia!

点评：We visited Ikorta enamel workshop as part of a group tour with Intrepid travel. I had no idea that the education would not be limited to learning about cloisonné but also about Georgian people who were displaced in their own country. Anna was our host. She is an asset to her community and has been able to provide jobs for people In her community and educate the outside world about what happened to her village. She told us about her community and why they were forced from their homes and she showed a wonderful YouTube presentation. She then fielded questions. We were treated to a delicious Georgian lunch and then a class in the art of cloisonné. We were each able to make a piece to take with us. They have very patient staff available to help (A delightful lady also called Anna helped me a lot and I was very grateful!) They have many beautiful pieces to suit all tastes available for sale at very reasonable prices. After he class we walked though the settlement and were able to visit the local shops at the end of the tour. I would highly recommend the Ikorta enamel workshop. You will leave with a wonderful piece of handmade art, a full stomach and most importantly a new understanding about a community of people who were displaced in their own country.
