点评:Knole Park is signed from the centre of Sevenoaks for both separate car and pedestrian entrances. There is plenty of parking near the house, but disabled parking is poorly signed. Some cars are allowed to use the drives so beware that no vehicle access signs can be misleading.
The rooms in the house that are open to the public are fascinating.. The National Trust volunteer guides are informative without being intrusive. There are many Royal artefacts including a James II bed, one of the oldest surviving Royal beds in the world, and some of the world's earliest sofas. The staircase wall painting is also very special.
The cafe offers usual National Trust fare, but pricing seems higher than at other properties. Pleasant dining surroundings with inside and outside seating.
Free entry for National Trust members. Entry fee also seems high in comparison to other properties. Includes access to house, parkland, seasonal art displays and tower climb which gives extensive views.
Walks in the park give lovely vistas of rolling countryside. Herds of deer which can be seen at close quarters. The peace is only damaged by rude golfers objecting to the legitimate use of footpaths.
