点评:Friday 4th September we visited Amarandos Cove, located on the southern coast of the Island, just south of village of Agnontas.
This Cove is listed as one of the scenic spots that was featured in the Mama Mia Movie, that was the main reason for our visit.
It is also home to the Three Trees of Amarandos, reviewed separately, on the Cape.
Having turned off the main road, near Agnontas, the road soon turned into an unsurfaced track. It was ok to drive along until we came to a section that was severely rutted and almost impossible to drive over, especially in our small hire car. Some larger cars did risk driving down the track, however we parked up along the track walked in the direction of the Trees to the Cape, it was roughly 800 metres.
As we walked down the track it was an opportunity to take in the amazing scenery and the rugged and dramatic coastline surrounded by the blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
There are no real beaches here, perhaps a small pebbled pocket along the coast. From the road some people made their way down the embankment to the water.
