点评:Our guide on the previous day’s walking tour of downtown Nashville suggested that we visit the Tennessee State Museum. My wife and I were skeptical of this recommendation but we went for a walk to see the state capital building and decided to stop by the nearby museum. First things to note - - the museum is free, well air conditioned and has nice restrooms. We went upstairs and began what the museum calls the Tennessee Time Tunnel. Each section of the museum explores a different phase of history. I especially enjoyed the civil war section as it had information on the battles fought in Tennessee as well as information on the impacts of the war on day to day life. The exhibits in the museum on Andrew Jackson, James Polk and Andrew Johnson were also very informative. The layout of the museum engages the visitor and the exhibits are very modern and easy to understand. We spent a couple of hours here and easily could have spent more time. We recommend checking out this museum.
