点评:We were first here more than 10 year ago and we remembered it was then under major renovation. So we planned a quick visit here as are staying nearby at Nippori.
We alighted at Suitengūmae Station, minutes' walk to the shrine and apparently takes its name from it.
水天宮 is the head shrine of Suitengu, of the 25 other shrines of the same name in Japan. Known for the Blessing as the deity of safe childbirth and fertility.
It was on the left side of the walkway as we approach. Upon passing through a modern concrete gate visitors will see the main hall and an open glass-walled office for amulets on the right side. The premise definitely looks new, and modern too. Unlike the rest of the shrines there are Halls and rooms for various functions & activities. The entire grounds of the shrine, which are visited by many expecting women and children, have been seismically retrofitted, very clean and spacious.
We made a quick prayer and wifey bought the Goshuin (shrine stamps) too.
