Wonderful experience at a small sealife rehabilitation center

点评：The most incredible experience we had throughout the entire week we spent on Rhodes island.
We had the pleasure of getting to know the owner who has dedicated the past decade of his life to rescuing sea creatures from fishing nets and rehabilitating them. He spends his entire day, every day, giving these animals a new chance at life which was the most heart-warming thing we've ever experienced. He also cares for several stray cats that clearly adore him, they are also very friendly towards visitors.
There is a separate tank for rescued stingrays and several other species of fish that are ready to be released that the visitors can set free themselves. We had the pleasure of releasing a stunning stingray back into the sea which was definitely the highlight of our entire trip on the island.
There are lots of interesting and unique creatures we've never seen before, saved from fishermen's nets who deemed them worthless and left them there to die. The animals are clearly cared for and they are only kept here until they are recovered enough to be set free.
The 8€ entry fee felt incredibly cheap compared to how huge of a difference this one man is making. He also sells seashells and crystals he collects himself, we made sure to buy as much stuff we could carry as an appreciation for his dedication. Best way I've ever spent any money, if we come back to Rhodes, we are definitely visiting this place again.
