Explore Ijen Bromo Tour的点评
点评：4D3N Surabaya return - Malang Rainbow Village, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen.
We have just had an excellent holiday, arranged by Edy and guided by Supri and our driver Pram. We started in Surabaya, stopping at the Malang Rainbow Village on our way to our first night's accommodation. This was an additional request from us and Edy was happy to arrange. We just needed to leave a little bit earlier in the morning. We also arrived at our first nights accommodation before check in and Supri took us to a waterfall lookout (Kapas Biru) as an additional activity.
Supri made sure we arrived at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall early to avoid the crowds and we were able to take excellent photos. He also guided us through a less common trail back, passing through caves in the cliffs for our return hike up the gorge. This was about 4km all up, with steep stairs descending and coming back up. You will get wet but there is opportunity to get changed at the accommodation before departing for Bromo.
Mount Bromo is a very popular tourist destination. We visited in shoulder season but there would have easily been hundreds of cars with a couple of thousand people visiting. Supri took us to a sunset spot in the evening. In the morning, Supri was able to get us in nice and early for front row access to the sunrise location and was also able to take us to some quieter spots. The sea of sand is extremely dusty from horses kicking up the sand and a shemagh is recommended. All up, this day was about 12km walking.
Mount Ijen was not quite as busy (only recently reopening following bushfires). Supri was again able to use his local knowledge (and experience as a miner) to get us great access and the best sunrise location. If you are fit, you can beat the crowd to the blue flame. This was about 17km all up, including walking down into the crater and is all very steep and can be slippery.
There is lots of walking and early starts in this trip, so it is important to be prepared for this. Supri was able to assess our level of fitness and give us some more adventurous options. If you are concerned about the amount of walking, there are lower impact activities like lookouts you can still enjoy at each location (excluding Ijen however you can pay locals approx $100usd to cart you up and down). The accommodation was comfortable and there was a good range of breakfast options at each location, including a packed breakfast for the morning at Ijen.
Supri and Pram provided excellent commentary during our drives between locations and made sure everything was arranged ready for our arrival at each location. They were very friendly, enthusiastic and spoke great English.
Booking through Edy took the stress of organising the logistics and travel. Communication via Whatsapp prior to the holiday was great. On arrival and throughout the trip, everything was efficient and our guide Supri went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time and took us to the less busy areas to get the best experience.
We would highly recommend booking your tour through Explore Bromo Ijen.
