Its colorful streets, flower-adorned balconies, and houses featuring traditional architecture clearly reflect the Paisa culture. The town exudes a peaceful, welcoming, and deeply family-oriented atmosphere, ideal for strolling at a leisurely pace and enjoying places such as the main park and its viewpoints. Moreover, the friendliness of its residents makes every visitor feel truly at home.
In Jericó, visitors can climb Morro El Salvador, from where they can take in stunning views of the town and its mountains. They can also take a leisurely walk through the Los Balsos Botanical Garden and enjoy its natural beauty. At the MAJA Museum, they’ll learn about local history, art, and traditions, while at the Casa de la Música they can immerse themselves in cultural experiences. They’ll also be able to wander through its vibrant streets, sample local coffee, and buy handcrafted bags. It will undoubtedly be an unforgettable visit!
For me, Jericó is a magical town and a true paradise. I’ve been visiting it since I was twelve, and over the years I’ve come to deeply know its culture, its history, and the warmth of its people. I’ve always been inspired by its deep religious faith, reflected in its fifteen urban and rural churches. Furthermore, Mother Laura, the first Colombian saint, was born there. On every visit, a cup of coffee tastes like pure hospitality to me, and a carriel reminds me of its beautiful traditions.
