Musée de la Romanité的点评
点评：The "Musée de la Romanité" (Museum of Romanity) is an archeological museum. It was opened in 2018, and it is housed in a modern building designed by the French–Brazilian architect Elizabeth de Portzamparc. It is in front of the Arena of Nîmes and its collection covers several periods of the history of Nîmes:
- The pre-Roman era (7th century BC - 1st century BC), with Gallic and Celtis artifacts;
- The Roman era (1st century BC - 3rd century CE);
- The Medieval era (10th-15th century CE).
In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions - the one going on at the time of my visit (mid-September 2025) was "L'art Romaine du Louvre - Un monde d'images" (Roman Art at the Louvre – A World of Images): if the permanent exhibitions deserve five stars, this temporary exhibition deserves even more!
