Bude Tunnel的点评
点评：We came to Bude for a simple Cornish beach holiday, we left as transformed souls. Nothing in a human lifetime could prepare you for the utter majesty of this tunnel. The second you enter, a profound and deep sense of peace washes over you.
As the orchestral sounds of raindrops echoed through the elegant polycarbonate arches, tears of appreciation streamed down our faces. We remained completely and miraculously dry as we contemplated the conditions in which our ancient ancestors must have toiled whilst erecting this monument, this testament to human engineering.
Our pilgrimage was a simple one. We journeyed the full length of the tunnel's sacred path from east to west, before returning to metre 35, the precise centre of the site, and settled in for a few hours of quiet mediation. Other visitors passed us by, swiftly traversing the tunnel without stopping. No doubt they were overwhelmed by the spiritual magnitude of the place.
I have been to Stonehenge and I have visited the Colosseum. Neither can offer you such total protection and sanctuary from the elements, nor such a sense of inner peace and enlightenment. If you only visit one more destination before leaving this mortal realm, make it the Bude Tunnel. Bring an open heart and plenty of tissues, and let the 70 metres of pure weather-resistant perfection shatter your worldview and show you the true meaning of beauty.
