点评:My husband and I were very interested in visiting this battlefield. We met Diana at the visitor center and she was so knowledgeable about this Seminole and soldier battle. We watched a short video with reenactment actors. It gave us further insight into the sights and sounds of that day in 1835 when 108 U.S. troops and officers were marching to Fort King and were attacked by 180 Seminole warriors. Three soldiers survived to tell the tale of the ambush. You can see artifacts and exhibits in the center. Outside you can walk the trail where the massacre took place and read about the details of the battle through markers and monuments. Before we left, we saw the 250 year old oak tree near the parking area. Just imagine all the history it has witnessed over the years. It was a great place to witness and learn about the struggles of the Seminole people and US troops trying to displace them in 19th century Florida.
