点评：This of course is the geyser basin associated with Old Faithful, which is located at the village, at the southernmost part of the Upper Basin. A number of the well-known geysers are in this grouping. There are many colorful pools, the Firehole River, and of course the geysers and bubbling springs in all their variety. The names Upper and Lower for the geyser basins can be a little confusing, especially for a first-time visitor, but remember that it is “Upper” along the Firehole River, which flows to the north-ish. We walked partway around the Upper Basin after watching Old Faithful our first evening in the park, when we were quite tired out. The weather was perfect, and none of the walk (boardwalks) along where we went was difficult in the least. My husband and I have seen this geyser basin many times from childhood on. This trip, we walked back to our lodge in the village when we got tired. The great thing is that you can walk all around the basin, or as short as you have time & energy for. Most of the boardwalk is accessible for those with mobility impairment, and no significant up- or down-hills.
