点评：When I buy artwork I expect it to last a lifetime. I have an eclectic collection in my home, several pieces over 100 years old. In 2024 I bought a painting by Jason Piper (encaustic abstract). It hung in my living room for about a year & a half when I noticed it was shriveling up, the paint layer was lifting off the board it was mounted on. It progressively got worse & I had to take it down. I took it to the Expo to show Jason in March 2026. He was not available but his partner Julie was there, was appalled by the condition of the painting and got the owner Rick Long involved. They both were appropriately concerned & assured me Jason would want to remedy this situation. "He will definitely make this right". Julie called Jason, put phone on speaker in my presence & told him about the painting. He was rude, said he was busy & "didnt have time for this". Again Rick & Julie assured me this would be taken care of, although exactly how was not discussed. I showed them the receipt for $2500 & provided my contact info. Rick promised he would talk to Jason & call me the next day with a solution. I never heard from Rick. Acouple weeks later Jason sent me a brief text saying he would try to repair the painting (not sure how because it had shrunk in size, so a repair would've been a smaller piece). The decent thing to do would've been maybe a partial repayment or offer another painting of similar size/value. Its been about 6 months & I have not heard from Jason or Rick. So now they have my painting & my $2500.
