1/5 — Six Flags Over Texas: Terrible Experience and Even Worse Customer Service
My family and I visited Six Flags Over Texas on March 13, 2026, and what should have been a fun family outing turned into an incredibly disappointing experience.
We purchased tickets with the Fast Lane bundle for our family of three, spending $327, not including parking, food, and other expenses throughout the day. Despite paying extra for faster access to rides, we managed to ride a grand total of FIVE rides the entire day.
Why? Because seemingly half the park’s rides were closed, the park was severely understaffed, and the entire operation was disorganized chaos. Employees appeared poorly trained, nobody seemed to know what was going on, and the customer service was absolutely terrible. It was easily one of the worst theme park experiences we’ve ever had.
We filed a complaint, and Six Flags offered us vouchers to return during the 2026 season. We would have preferred a refund, especially considering we live 360 miles away, but we accepted the vouchers in good faith and figured we would try to make another trip before the end of the year.
Fast-forward to October. We made another trip to Texas and discovered that, despite being told we could use our vouchers during the 2026 season, the fine print actually restricted their use to Labor Day.
We spent considerable time navigating phone trees, online chats, and customer service channels just to reach someone who could help. Our request was simple: Extend the vouchers so we could actually use what we were promised after our original terrible experience.
Six Flags refused.
Think about that for a moment. We spent over $327 on admission and Fast Lane passes, traveled hundreds of miles, experienced a park where a significant number of rides weren’t operating, managed to ride only FIVE rides, and were offered vouchers instead of a refund. Now, despite our willingness to give them another opportunity, they won’t even extend those vouchers.
We were polite and understanding when we originally complained. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable. We simply wanted Six Flags to make things right.
Apparently, that’s too much to ask.
I’ve watched Six Flags Over Texas decline significantly over the past decade, but this experience takes the cake. The poor operations, lack of employee training, terrible customer service, and complete unwillingness to accommodate a reasonable request demonstrate just how far this park has fallen.
My advice? BEWARE. Think twice before spending hundreds of dollars here, especially if you’re traveling from out of town. Paying premium prices doesn’t guarantee a premium experience, and based on our experience, don’t expect Six Flags to make things right when they fail to deliver.
Five rides. $327 plus expenses. Two trips to Texas. And absolutely no resolution.
What a wasted trip—360 miles!!
Incredibly disappointing.
