A journey full of unforgettable experiences and encounters
Eyayaw Tours Ethiopia的点评
点评：Last autumn, after 15 years, we decided to take another trip to Ethiopia. We got in touch with Eyayaw Tours and put together a family-friendly itinerary. It was a brilliant decision. Our trip began in mid-April:
After spending the first night in Addis Ababa, we flew to Lalibela, where we were met by Eyayaw. He showed us the breathtaking rock-hewn churches in his hometown. Eyayaw proved to be a knowledgeable guide and provided interesting background information on the Orthodox churches – all in perfect German. We also visited a mountain monastery in Lalibela with a fantastic view.
After another night in Addis, we set off on a tour of the Oromo region south of the capital. First, we drove to Lake Wonchi, where we hiked through the crater, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and ended the tour with a boat trip across the lake. The next day, we enjoyed the beauty of Lake Langano and had the opportunity to explore the wildlife of this lakeside landscape: from flamingos and marabou storks to warthogs, ostriches and antelopes. Then came the absolute highlight of the trip: a hike on a plateau over 4,000 metres high in the Bale Mountains. In this fairytale landscape, we were lucky enough to see the rare Ethiopian wolf at close quarters. We also saw hares scurrying away at top speed. The tour ended in Hawassa, a large town on the lake of the same name. We took a boat trip to see the hippos and spotted various species of bird. We were also lucky enough to watch a kingfisher catching fish. In a park, we saw hyenas as well as vervet monkeys and colobus monkeys.
We then returned to Addis and spent two action-packed days in the city: we watched a football match, went to a Fendika concert and visited the Mercato, a huge, labyrinthine market where you can find absolutely everything.
We had comfortable accommodation everywhere, and we really enjoyed the food, from injera to Italian cuisine. Throughout the trip, we got to know local people and gained a deep insight into their lives, thanks to Eyayaw. Both in rural areas and in Addis. Eyayaw and his driver Tefe were a friendly and professional team. They were very flexible and catered to all our requests. We had a wonderful time full of exciting experiences with them – thank you very much!
