Great birding tour of central Peru!

点评：We spent three weeks in central Peru with Cesar. This was out third trip with Birds of Peru and it exceeded our expectations. As always, Cesar was an excellent birding guide and companion on a trip that covered over 3,000 kilometers on narrow mountain roads and a wide variety of destinations. The birding was great! Lots of challenging species - including at least five tapaculos and four or five tricky antpittas. Cesar knows where to find the target birds and has the sills and technology to tease them into the open.
On this trip (the third we have done with Cesar over the past five years), we were well prepared for some difficult conditions at high altitude and cold conditions. We stayed in several nice lodges but also a few pretty basic places near the birding destinations. Everyone we stayed with was very accommodating and the food was always good and plentiful.
This was not a luxury tour... it was an adventure and we loved it. Cesar is one of the best birding guides in Peru (and elsewhere in the region) and he has researched the best places to stay to get the most out of the experience. I added 120 species to my life list and have many excellent photographs of rare and spectacular birds to share.
