Lovely 19th-century garden at Queenstown
皇后镇花园的点评
点评：One of the interesting outdoor attractions at Queenstown is the 14.75 hectare public Gardens that make up the scenic peninsula extending into Lake Wakatipu. The Queenstown Gardens were designed in the manner of a traditional English Garden and were opened to the public in 1866-67. The park is open 24 hours a day and is free to visit.
You'll find a classic rose garden, smaller native gardens, pond, grassy lawns, forested areas English oaks, Douglas firs along with various pines and willows along the shore lines. There is a old band rotunda, bowling green, shoreline walking trail with excellent views of the lake and snow capped mountains in the distance.
More modern park features include a frisbee golf course, children's playground areas, tennis courts, skate park and Ice skating arena. There are public toilets and some parking on the north side of the Gardens as well. On the whole, we really liked walking through the Queenstown Gardens, taking in the lovely small gardens, forested side and lake views. It is a nice place to venture into after spending time browsing the busier streets and lakefront promenade at the main town centre.
