Quite Interesting and Very Moving
International Bomber Command Centre的点评
点评：I'm an aviation nut basically, so had to check this museum out while in the area exploring family roots. A lot of the heavy bomber squadrons were located in Lincolnshire during the war and hence the rationale for this exceptional museum. It's a challenging subject to showcase - because of the effects of mass bombing on German civilians. I think it's a hard thing for both sides to talk about and certainly many vets kept to themselves for a long time... a hard thing to process, as you can imagine.
They do as good a job as could be done to give a balanced portrayal of both the effects and the men who flew the missions (and the civilians backing them). I'm glad that they built this before the last of those men left us. One thing is certain: the bravery of the crews was unprecedented and extraordinary.
The gift shop is also very good, as is the cafeteria, plus, the staff are really nice and helpful. I hope that they keep expanding the displays because there's a lot to cover.
