Comfort. Superb breakfasts. Amazing hosts with an incredible knowledge of the local area

点评：My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in the superb Armstrong Wing at Cragend Farm, a working farm, which adjoins the Cragside Estate (National Trust). Not only was the bedroom very comfortable and spacious with a king-size bed but the bathroom was also enormous with a bath and excellent walk in shower. Breakfasts started with one of the best selections of fresh fruit we have come across in all our travels in this country and abroad. Following the fruit and cereal we were treated to a large and very tasty cooked breakfast, freshly prepared by the owner Shaun. Shaun and his wife Lou have worked wonders in a relatively short space of time transforming what was basically a very dilapidated shell of a building into very comfortable accommodation. In addition to their creative talents they both have encyclopaedic knowledge of the local history and in particular the work carried out by Lord Armstrong in the 19th century. Lou gave very generously of her time to show us photographs of what she and Shaun have achieved at Cragend and also to illustrate various aspects of Cragside. Lou also put her knowledge of the local history to good use on our behalf by recommending various places to visit etc. If you are looking for comfort, superb breakfasts, amazing hosts and information about the fascinating Cragside estate and the surrounding area then Cragend Farm is very definitely the place to stay.
