点评:This was probably the biggest hidden gem I discovered in Bern.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Since the exhibit labels are mostly in German, they immediately provided me with an audio guide and an iPad containing English translations, explanations, and recordings. That made the museum accessible and enjoyable for international visitors.
The highlight is definitely the interactive basement, where visitors can actually play many of the instruments.
I had never played a theremin before (this is not in the basement), and it turned out to be one of the most unique musical experiences I’ve ever had. Controlling music simply by moving your hands through the air feels almost magical. I also learned how frequently theremins were used to create the haunting sounds in classic science fiction and horror films.
I also enjoyed trying the enormous alphorns and, of course, couldn’t resist playing the flute.
If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual museums, I highly recommend this place. It’s interactive, educational, and genuinely fun for adults as well.
