点评：Stepping onto the property of Alexander Valley Vineyards is a lesson in history, agriculture, and the passion shared by every generation of the Wetzel family that has tended to this land and to the many needs of a winery. It is a breathtaking 750 acres with approximately a third of it planted to grape vines. Gardens cared for by an on-site gardener help feed the 18 tables at the farmer's market. The property has three historical buildings from the original owner, Cyrus Alexander. This includes the oldest, a very old adobe house that Cyrus lived in while building his main house. The door leading to the caves is right near the tasting room and leads to an unbelievable series of caves full of wine barrels. The wines are all of a particular style that speaks of this place, balanced, varietally correct, honest, and will gladly share the table with food by enhancing it. There are a lot of different wines to choose from including: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Cyrus. This isn't cocktail wine, this is wine with restraint, it never goes too far. Lovely people, place and wine. Everything you want in a glass.
