A refreshing visit to Cenote Ik Kil
益吉天然水井的点评
点评：I absolutely loved visiting Cenote Ik Kil! We visited after spending the morning at Chichén Itzá, so it was the perfect place to cool down and relax after several hours in the hot sun. The contrast was wonderful — after exploring the ancient ruins, stepping into the cool, crystal-clear water surrounded by lush greenery felt incredibly refreshing.
Even though it was raining when we arrived, it honestly made the experience even more magical. The rain, the tropical vegetation, the deep turquoise water and the dramatic rock walls created such a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Swimming in the cenote while the rain was falling around us was something I will remember for a long time.
The cenote is surrounded by hanging vines and beautiful greenery, making it feel almost like a hidden natural paradise. It was also a great opportunity to simply slow down, cool off and enjoy the incredible nature of the Yucatán.
I would definitely recommend combining these three places into one day: start with Chichén Itzá in the morning, then head to Cenote Ik Kil for a refreshing swim and some relaxation, and finish the day in Valladolid. After lunch, you can spend a lovely afternoon walking around the colourful streets, admiring the colonial architecture and soaking up the atmosphere of this charming town.
For me, this was the perfect combination of history, nature, swimming, food and Mexican culture — and I would absolutely recommend it!
