点评:We really loved this--after we survived the white-knuckle drive up from Llangollen.
Here's what you need to know about getting there: Do NOT drive up Wern road, even though it looks like the most straightforward route and goes conveniently up from the middle of town. It's steep and gets increasingly narrow, without any margin for error. There's barely room for even one car (and branches will grab at it), and you may meet other cars coming down (so you'll have to back up), and you'll definitely meet people walking, and sheep walking, so you need to go very slowly and cautiously and let them squeeze past your car (the people; we were fortunate and didn't meet sheep as we were driving up, but we saw them starting down that road later).
Every person we talked to at the top said they would never drive that road again--we all chose to take a different way out. Our family went east on Panorama walk, and then took the lower (right hand) fork of the road back to A539. It had some blind turns like you get in this part of the world, but was overall way, way less scary.
As far as the castle itself, it's very dramatic -- high up a steep hill, with amazing views of the surrounding landscape. The ruins are interesting. It was windy when we were there, and the crows were swooping around dramatically (Dinas Bran means crow's fortress). It was one of our favorite hikes of our trip.
