点评:If you have even the slightest interest in trains and railroads, you need to visit the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation. Located in downtown Baltimore, not far from the Inner Harbor, this museum wows you from the start. The entrance is at the beautifully restored roundhouse which includes a working central turntable surrounded by 20+ beautifully restored train engines and/or cars representing the first 100 years of train travel. The property includes many other engines and cars, both inside and outside, of which a number of them have been completely restored. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian and it reminds me of the railroad/train version of the Udvar Hazy Air & Space Museum.
There is so much to see that I recommend visiting when you can book a tour to give you an overview and the highlights so that you can then spend additional time on your own.
Lexington Market is within a couple of miles and a great place for lunch.
