点评：My son mentioned to me when he was about ten years old his desire to visit the B & O Train Museum. It took a few years however, I never forgot his request and so he had an opportunity to celebrate his 15th birthday visiting the place he had always spoken about. We were first amazed by the round room train display however, we stumbled upon a very nice surprise while visiting one of the smaller display rooms where we encountered Mr. Steve Shulder a museum volunteer. We visited on May 28, 2026 which was a relatively quiet day but due to the quiet my son had an opportunity to learn so much regarding the history of the museum because of his knowledge, expertise, and love for the B&O train museum. He took not only my son but myself on a journey that was magical and so enjoyable and what made it extra special was it was my son’s birthday. We had no idea about all of the history regarding the B&O Museum. Trains cannot talk but Mr. Steve Shulder became their voice on this day and he did a superior job of sharing the amazing story of the history of the railway which was long ago. Train history is fascinating history and we enjoyed our journey with him.
We learned about the Founders of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Pullman Porters contributions to the railroad, and we discovered the amazing through the Underground Railroad display.
When you have an opportunity to visit don't forget to take the short train ride which is an additional $5.00 for adults and children $4.00, for museum members the ride is free. Admission to the museum is $20.00 for adults and museum hours are daily from 10:00am-4:00pm.
Mr. Steve Shulder you are a gem and we are forever grateful that we encountered you on our journey at the B&O Railroad Museum. You enhanced our knowledge and made my son’s birthday one that will be remembered and forever dear to our hearts. It is truly one thing to visit a museum but it is quite another to have a guide who is caring and has the desire to spread the history of the American railroad accurately and with passion. Our day was simply AMAZING because of you and the knowledge that you bestowed on us. Thank you Mr. Steve Shulder! You are a really wonderful guy!
