点评:Overall the actual boat ride was ok but not great. The staff were all very nice and friendly. They take you upstream about 10 miles and casually float/row and guide you back to the end of Talkeetna where, on a clear day, you can see Mt McKinley.
For $100 I think the float should be much longer. They pull into three side streams to discuss the beavers and their dams. They will discuss the plants, berries, etc. Personally, it felt like they were trying to make a 45 minute float into 120 minutes. Again, great personnel but an average float. Also, the guides aren’t from Alaska. Nearly all of them are there just for the summer so they’ve never lived up there and will have limited experience in Alaska. Ultimately, they have a very captive audience from all the tour buses, cruise ship buses, and AK railroad stop that it’s pretty easy to keep the business afloat, pun intended.
