Lightner Museum的点评
点评：I think based on the reviews I was expecting more of a Barnes museum (Philly) type collection but this is all no name stuff. There is even currently an exhibit of modern no name artists, which I can see would draw a local crowd but it’s not up to standards (or maybe it is with such low standards).
The most interesting part was the old pool. There was a picture showing how it used to be decorated with flags and acrobat devices from the rafters. I think they should redecorate it like that. They should also have a period hotel room. They have period bath house rooms so would have loved for them to continue that kind of vibe.
The collections overall felt sparse for the space they were in. It did not feel opulent or gilded age with the way things were displayed. Again I think some period furniture throughout could address this a bit. And maybe they should visit the Barnes museum to see what it could be with a better curation. The barnes is out of control but this was way too sparse and looked like they didn’t have enough to fill it.
