点评：We decided to visit the museum's West Wing and the adjacent sculpture garden. The museum features works of art from various genres, spanning from the 11th to the 20th centuries. It's open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. The museum is located along the National Mall and is easily accessible if you use the subway station. We admired everything, especially the magnificent collection of Impressionist paintings. But the most favorite painting, where the majority of visitors follow the arrows (like how tourists go to the Mona Lisa in the Louvre) is the painting of "Ginevra de' Benci" by Leonardo da Vinci.
This is museum's most prized and famous piece Leonardo da Vinci's "Portrait of Ginevra de' Benci" was purchased by the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., in 1967. The deal cost $5–6 million, setting an absolute price for art of the time. Painted around 1474, it holds the distinction of being the ONLY painting by da Vinci on permanent public display in the Americas.
