Good experience but some reservations ...
Induruwa Sea Turtle Conservation Project & Sea Turtle Information Center的点评
点评：Our experience here was good, the boy who showed us around was very informative and took time to answer our questions. He was particularly attentive to the two kids who were in complete awe at seeing the turtles so close. The adult turtles will spend their life time in this hatchery or a smilier place as they are injured - often loosing a limb by getting entangled on fishing nets.
For Rs 5000/- we got 6 baby turtles which the kids released into the sea. Thrilled as they waddled as fast as they could on their little into the sea - sadly one was not quick enough for a sharp eyed eagle.
Here is my grouse: This is NOT where I meant to go. I had reserved a slot with ' Dudley' at the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation My instruction to the tuk tuk driver were to take us specifically to that Project - he brought us here. Boards outside claimed it to be the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Project but later we saw another Board on the other side which read Induruwa Turtle Conservation .. As I walked in I asked the lead guy - are your Dudley - he kind of nodded. I was not re very sure as I had spoken to Dudley and this guy did not seem to be as fluent in English. It was only an hour or so later, when I had a call from Dudley to ask me if I was not coming for the hatchling release it dawned on me that I was duped! So watch out for those tuk drives who are hand in glove with hatchery owners/ cruise operators etc
