The totem poles are impressive and worth seeing, but the facilities around the area are basic, with very little in the way of amenities or structured displays.
It can feel like you’ve seen everything fairly quickly, and there isn’t much space to explore beyond the main building and carving shed.
Staff were friendly and the cultural significance of the site is clear, but the visit doesn’t quite match the scale or depth of other attractions in Ketchikan. For travellers looking for a brief stop with some local heritage, it’s fine — just don’t expect a large or fully developed visitor experience.
