点评：You might not be familiar with sculptor Auguste Rodin. But you are aware of his most famous and best known work, The Thinker, which he sculpted from 1880 to 1882 and today sits outside the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia in the entry courtyard. Located at 2151 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Rodin opened in 1929 and contains one of the largest collections of Rodin's works outside Paris. The collection, a gift to the city from movie theatre magnate Jules Mastbaum, consists of nearly 150 objects, including bronze castings, plaster studies, marbles, drawings, prints, letters and books. Other of the artist's works on display in the museum's several rooms include the massive 5.5-meter-tall bronze doorway called Gates of Hell, The Kiss, Eternal Springtime, The Age of Bronze, the Colossal Head of Balzac, Baachus in the Vat and the Burghers of Calais.
