点评：Centre-Ville de Strasbourg is the historic centre of Strasbourg on an island and has most of the major sites. Key attractions are the Strasbourg Cathedral, Petite France and Place Kleber. There are many hidden gems spread throughout as well like the Musée de l'Œuvre-Notre-Dame and Cave Historique des Hospices de Strasbourg. We visited on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so it was very crowded when the Christmas Markets were closing on Christmas Eve but the crowds dispersed shortly after the markets had closed and we pretty much had the city centre to ourselves on Christmas Day in the morning.
We booked a Christmas Market Tour with One City Tours that took us through many of the markets on Christmas Eve and gave us lots of interesting information and recommendations for the markets. This tour company offers other city tours but we would recommend the Christmas Market tour with them when it is available. We did a self-guided walking tour in the morning on Christmas Day and found Strasbourg very easy to walk around and found quite a few areas that we liked. There are many restaurants and shops in the city centre but it is important to note that many close Christmas Eve and will be open Christmas Day and some may even close for a month or two after the markets close.
The most popular attraction is the Strasbourg Cathedral tower climb and it has regular lines throughout the day. If you want to do this it is best to get there when the ticket office opens and be one of the first to complete the ascent. The views from here are spectacular. Another recommended area to get a view of the old town is the Barrage Vauban in southwest corner. The city centre is charming and beautiful and we would recommend planning to spend a few hours here and planning for a lunch or dinner if you have time.
